Struck c. 85 65 BC for King Mithradates VI Eupator at Amisos, a major Black Sea port city. Obverse: Aegis with Gorgon Medusa head. Reverse: Nike advancing right holding wreath and palm branch. Gorgon Medusa's head was a potent, petrifying severed head used by Perseus to defeat his enemies, ultimately given to Athena and placed on her aegis. Well struck with excellent Gorgon head, very nice in hand.
